Introduction
High Yield Prep ("we", "us", "our") provides exam preparation tools to medical students. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have about your data.
This policy applies to all High Yield Prep products including the website and Android app.
By creating an account or using our platform, you agree to the practices described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
Data We Collect
We collect only what we need to operate the platform and improve your study experience:
- Account information: name, email address, exam selection, and password (hashed).
- Study activity: questions attempted, scores, time spent, and spaced-repetition history.
- Payment records: transaction reference numbers. We never see or store your card or wallet credentials.
- Push notification tokens: device identifiers used to deliver study reminders. Only collected if you explicitly enable notifications.
- Technical data: device type, browser, IP address, and log data for security and debugging.
How We Use Your Data
Your information powers the platform: we use it to deliver content, personalise your study plan, and track your progress over time. We also use aggregated, anonymised data to identify which topics students struggle with and improve our content accordingly.
We will never sell your personal data to advertisers or third parties. Period.
Data Storage & Security
All data is stored on encrypted servers hosted in secure data centres. Connections to our platform use TLS 1.3 encryption, and passwords are hashed with industry-standard algorithms.
While no system is completely impenetrable, we apply reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information against unauthorised access.
Third-Party Services
We work with a limited number of trusted third parties to operate the service. For example, payment processors (JazzCash, Easypaisa, PayPal) and email delivery providers. Each is bound by confidentiality obligations and only receives the minimum data needed to perform their function.
We use PostHog and Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how students use the platform (pages visited, features used, session duration). These tools collect anonymised usage data only. No personal study content is shared with them.
We do not use third-party advertising trackers on the platform.
Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. You can also request a copy of your data in a portable format, or ask us to stop processing it for any optional purpose.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@highyieldprep.com. We respond within 30 days.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the platform evolves or as required by law. When we make material changes, we'll notify you by email and post a notice on this page.
Continued use of the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
